This piece I wrote for The Drum’s Open Mic details some ways that people can cope, grieve, accept, and embrace the opportunity for change and growth after experiencing a layoff.

Podcasts, once the new media industry darling and burgeoning format, may be reaching a saturation point.
Recent data from Edison Research shows that weekly podcast listenership actually declined for the first time in 2022. 26% of people surveyed stated they had listened to a podcast in the last week, down from 28% in 2021.
Chances are some boosted pandemic-era listeners have started to taper off as the pandemic has started to curtail.
It's interesting to note that podcasts have spawned other media like Marc Maron’s TV show Maron, or Only Murders In The Building, a hit TV series about a trio that hosts a murder podcast.
